Super Levi can fly fast and he has laser eyes. He has a red  cape and he has powers and  gloves and red boots and he is helpful. He wears red undies.

One day Super Levi was flying through the sky and he heard screaming so he went down to the building and saved the people from the robbers in the shop. They said thank you Super Levi.

Super Sarah was a hero that could save everyone in the town. She has long blonde hair and a pink suit. Super Sarah has purple and pink high heel shoes.

One day Super Sarah saw two giant ants trying to destroy the town. She punched them in the eyeball and they both ran home.

Black Friday

Today we all came to school wearing black to show our support for the All Blacks. We made signs and put them on the front fence. We hope the All Blacks win the world cup!

Football Fun

We are having a football session every Wednesday afternoon for the next 5 weeks. We look forward to learning some new skills.

Sock Puppets

We have been practicing reading our poems at a good speed. Here are sock puppets we created using an app on the IPad to hear what we sounded like.

Our new IPad

We are very lucky to have an ipad in our class to use.  We have written penguin stories then coloured in a special picture and used the quiver app to make 3D penguins. We have also used the sock puppets app to practice reading our poems out loud and at a good speed.

Pirate Fun with Mrs Palmer

While Miss Nation was away on camp with Room 15 we had lots of fun being pirates - check out our pictures!

One day Bob the penguin was  running to the South Pole to see Santa to get his present but   santa wasn't home. 

Bob found the key and unlocked the door and he got his present,  his present was a thousand fish and he took them home to eat.

Life Education

We had a lovely time visiting Harold the Giraffe in his truck. We learnt lots about the brain. We learnt that the brain controls everything in the body. It makes our hearts beat and our lungs breathe. We had to put together a puzzle of the brain but it was a bit tricky because we had to to it in mad scientist lighting - (red light). Learning Investigation: Can I use verbs and adjectives to make my story more interesting

Today room 9 went to see Harold in his classroom. We had to figure out Harold's maths problem and it was 1 + 1 = 2 but he already figured it  out. We used our fingers to make stars appear on the roof. The man was using an ipad to control the screen. We learnt lots about what our body needs - food, oxygen, love, sleep and exercise.

Star inquiry

We made a video about what we have learnt during our star inquiry. We hope you find out something new as well.

Star Maths

For maths we have been doing multiplication. We had to put stars in a google drawing and then figure out how many points on each star. When then recorded our answers using voice thread.

Verb Wordles

We have been learning about making our writing more interesting. We came up with a list of verbs we could use in our writing and then made wordles using our favourite ones.

Inquiry - Stars

Our inquiry for this term is called Twinkle, twinkle little star how I wonder what you are? Here is a youtube clip we watched to help us learn what a star is.

Computers

We are really excited in Room 9 as we now have one to one computers. We are busy at the moment learning how to take care of them. Yesterday Miss Nation showed us how to go to our google drive and open google docs. We are also creating our own blogs to show our learning. Thanks Mrs Larsen and Ms O'Connor!
