Glass Monsters

A few weeks ago we entered into a competition for the Wanganui Glass Festival to design a monster. If they liked our design there was the possibiltiy that our pictures would be made into glass. In our class 3 lucky people had their monsters made into glass. Check them out below - I have put the picture beside a photo of the glass monster

Monsters

We have been doing design for Art this term. First we had to think about the shape, colour and how many eyes, ears, mouths out monster might have. Next we created a couple of different monsters in our art book. Then we chose our favourite design to do a good copy. When we had finished we wrote about our monster and what it liked to do. Here are a couple of monsters and stories.

My monster is called Toll. He is a big grey monster and he has six tongues. Toll likes to roar and scare people and jump and tickle them. By Daziel

My monster is called Milo. He is brown and he has sharp teeth. He likes to make forest fires. By Sean

Turtles

Today we were very lucky. Blake's Auntie bought some turtles in for us to have a look at. Most of us had a hold of them and thought they felt cold, slimy and wet. The turtles even had a race and the girl turtle won. We wrote some great stories about the visit. Check out the pictures and our stories.

Penguin Mosaics

As a treat for all the hard work we did during our dance Miss Nation found a good idea for some penguin art. First we had to draw the penguin shape and background on a blue piece of paper. Next we ripped different colour paper into small pieces to make our mosaic. We think they look awesome - check them out and tell us what you think.

Dance Showcase

Our dance showcase on Tuesday was a huge success. The kids were so proud of their dance and loved being penguins. Here is a clip of our two dances. If you would like the whole showcase ask at the school office as we are selling it for $5.
