Tapa Cloth
We looked at Samoan Tapa patterns and we practices drawing them. Then we created our own on brown paper and coloured it with black sharpie. Miss Nation and Ricky cello-taped all the art to make a huge tapa quilt.

Our new class name - He Puna Whawha
Class Logo
LI: Can we create a class logo for our new name that shows a Puna - spring, the new name and what Whawha means (being hands on learners and becoming more independent)
First we looked at why we thought we had a new class name. Then we used the Maori dictionary to look up what the words puna and whawha meant. Miss Nation then challenged us to come up with a logo for our class. We looked at our school logo and decided what we needed to use for our logos. Then we drew our idea on a piece of paper. When we had done that we used google drawing to create our finished product.

Penguin Diaries
We have been watching the penguin camera at Seaworld Orlando and writing down what they have been doing each week. Here are some of our diary entries.
Today I saw some penguin swimming in the deep water and they looked like they were having fun. They were swimming high swimming low and swimming everywhere and bubbles came shooting up when they were diving in.
